Code of Conduct
Just (Continue to) Be a Good Human
We are FanSided United, so let's take care of one another. Here are a few general guidelines, followed by the Minute Media anti-harassment policy. Please review all of these notes before we get together in Orlando.
- Some Yetis are huggers. Others are not. Always ask before touching someone or giving them a hug. If you ask and they decline, don't take it personally. There are other ways to express your warmth and appreciation.
- Be responsible about your alcohol consumption. We expect to have plenty of fun together, but this is still a business event, so don't overdo it.
- Also, please do not consume ANY alcohol before our Special Olympics events. That includes no alcohol at lunch on Sunday between the Opening Ceremonies and our afternoon volunteering shift.
- FYI, cannabis is not legal for recreational use in Florida.
Workplace Harassment & Sexual Harassment Policy
FanSided is committed to maintaining a workplace free from harassment of any kind.
Workplace harassment includes but is not limited to unwelcome conduct that is based on race, color, religion, sex (including sexual orientation, gender identity, or pregnancy), national origin, age, disability, or genetic information (including family medical history). Workplace harassment may also include, but is not limited to, offensive jokes, slurs, epithets or name calling, physical assaults or threats, intimidation, ridicule or mockery, insults or put-downs, offensive objects or pictures, and interference with work performance.
Sexual harassment includes harassment on the basis of sex, sexual orientation, self-identified or perceived sex, gender expression, gender identity and the status of being transgender. Sexual harassment also consists of any unwanted verbal or physical advances, sexually explicit derogatory statements, or sexually discriminatory remarks which are offensive or objectionable to the recipient, which cause the recipient discomfort or humiliation, or which interfere with the recipient’s job performance.
Harassment is not limited to the physical workplace itself. It can occur while employees are traveling for business or at employer sponsored events or parties. Calls, texts, emails, and social media usage by employees can constitute unlawful workplace harassment, even if they occur away from the workplace premises, on personal devices or during non-work hours. Some examples include, but are not limited to, words, signs, jokes, pranks, intimidation or physical violence.
Please don’t hesitate to contact your manager or HR if you experience harassment or suspect it has taken place. We want to be sure all FanSided employees are able to fully enjoy their time in Orlando.
