What Are Walking Shorts?
The dress code for Special Olympics volunteers specifies khakis, skirts, or walking shorts for your lower half. So what are walking shorts?
Walking shorts are also known as Bermuda shorts or hiking shorts. Typical features include pockets, a zipper or button fly, and belt loops, and the hem of the shorts extends to around 1" above the knee.
What Are Not Walking Shorts?
Lots of other shorts styles are not appropriate for volunteering. Don't wear any of these shorts for our volunteer shifts:
- Compression shorts
- Yoga shorts
- Basketball shorts
- Running shorts
- Gym shorts
- Booty shorts
- Board shorts
- Denim shorts
- Cutoffs
